Dialog Radio Show
Once again, we were blessed to all come together (well, most of us, anyway) to talk with Le Kilgore on her weekly show, Dialog. It was wonderful to see everyone again. Unfortunately, Rashda and Debra were unable to join us. We hope to get together "in full" again soon!

1st Meeting with Junior Ambassadors
This morning, we had our first meeting with some Jr. Peace Ambassadors. Probably because of this being such a busy weekend in San Angelo, only two of the 39 people who signed up were able to attend. Tore Andersen, and her friend, Sarah McClain were there, along with many of the "Senior" Peace Ambassaadors. we reviewed the questions that were asked of the youth at the March 29 discussion, and discussed their answers. We talked about several possible solutions for the problems our youth are facing. It was interesting, we kept coming back to one word: Communication. That seems to be a common thread in all of our speeches and discussions.
We left agreeing that we would all meet again soon, probably in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, we will be able to pick a date that more of the youth will be able to attend. At our next meeting, we will discuss some possible projects/ideas for the Junior Peace Ambassadors to work on.

Passover Seder
On Wednesday, April 14, Karen John and Congregation Beth Israel hosted a Community Passover Seder. It was fabulous to see Jewish, Muslim, and Christian people come together to pray, learn, and eat. Those who had never been to a Seder before were exposed to a new celebration. After the Seder dinner, several went upstairs to the sanctuary, where Andrew and Ami answered questions about the synagogue, the Torah, and many other aspects of the Jewish faith.

HUGE Turnout at Youth Dialogue
The number of people that came to our Dialogue for Youth this evening was Fabulous! Bishop Pfeiffer estimated approximately 350 were in attendance. The youth listened to each panel member discuss various aspects of their religions. They were then invited to sign up to join the Peace Ambassadors at a later date, to discuss ways to help young people work toward peace. The lists are still being compiled, but at quick glance, it looked like approximately 20 young adults signed up, saying that they would be interested in joining us.
Wouldn't it be wonderful for there to be a "Junior Ambassadors of Peace and Love" program?
After the Dialogue, the Youth were given the opportunity to ask questions. Several asked questions at the microphone, but many more came up after the final blessing to ask questions more informally.
A very successful event! Thank you to Lori Hines and Holy Angels Church for inviting us.

More info on Peace Talk for Youth
The Peace Panel dialogue for the youth of the city of San Angelo will be held at the hall of Holy Angels Parish on March 29, 2006 from 7:30 - 9:00 pm. Admission is free, but we are asking each person to bring one can of food, to be donated to the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. While any food is appreciated, the Soup Kitchen would appreciate foods other than corn or green beans, as they already have plenty of these. We look forward to seeing you there!

Ambassadors to Speak on 3/29
An interfaith dialogue on peace is set for San Angelo youth on Wednesday, March 29th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the parish hall of Holy Angels Catholic Church at the corner of Oxford and A&M streets.
The panel discussion is presented by the Ambassadors for Peace & Love, a gathering of representatives of 3 of the world's great religions each speaking about their approach to peace. Two Jewish, 2 Muslim, and 2 Christian people will each share their understanding of God's call to work for peace at home, in their city, in their country, and in the world.
The Ambassadors previously met for a similar dialogue at Sacred Heart Cathedral in January upon request of Bishop Michael Pfeifer, O.M.I. and also hosted a gourmet Valentine's lunch at the Wesley United Methodist Church Daily Bread Soup Kitchen complete with arias and chocolates.
All San Angelo youth are invited to the March 29th panel gathering. Adults are welcome too.
